Where Function Meets Design
Our artist, Forest Dickey combines traditional architectural forms, materials, and methods with innovative design to create one-of-a-kind furniture. Each piece has its own character and link to the past, illuminated through its distinctive markings. Each piece is handmade, with an attention to detail that cannot be equaled by mass-produced goods. The wood’s origin, natural aging, and distinctive markings combine to provide the furniture with a singular beauty. See the gallery on Cliff and Canyon. Bonnie Belt Fine Ceramics
We are pleased to feature pieces by Bonnie Belt, a ceramic artist currently living in Northern California. Her works are evocative of the lonely, windswept desert - beautiful yet sere. In the words of the artist, "A fascination with nature and trees has pervaded most of my 30-year career in art. My “tree” sculptures began as small covered jars with tiny, one-inch high trees. Posted on March 18, 2010 · Leave a CommentIf you’re a fan of Frank Lloyd Wright, you’ll be happy to know that the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation recently paid $48,800 for the collection of Wright photographs, correspondence and select building plans at a Los Angeles auction, the Associated Press reports.
The foundation seeks to preserve the architect’s legacy, and the items purchased at auction include photos of Wright buildings that no longer exist, including his home and the demolished Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.
You can add Prairie-style touches into your homes through accessories like our fireplace screens. The Prairie wheat fire screen and Prairie corn fire screen, both priced at $480, evoke the feel of a Wright design.

Check out this feature all about color in the March issue of Colorado Homes & Lifestyles magazine, where designers and editors give their thoughts on their favorite hues.
Rich colors are definitely in when it comes to high country design.
Dede Didighero-Tuso of Broadstroke Design in Frisco tells the magazine: “We live in an area with cold and snow for eight to nine months a year, so we need warm and soothing comfort colors.
It’s definitely something to consider as you look at furniture and accessories for your mountain homes.
Buying Green Home Furnishings
Posted on March 10, 2010 · Leave a CommentYou may be wondering how to buy green when purchasing home furnishings and accessories.
Here are three tips from National Geographic’s “True Green Home” book on how to incorporate sustainable furniture into your home:
1. Be a “wood geek.” Regional wood that was once used as floor or ceiling timbers, old school bleachers or even skis (see photo) can be recycled in your home’s furniture or woodwork.
2. Upholster wisely. Green furniture incorporates smart fabric choices too. New green fabrics are gaining popularity and coming online at a rapid rate, resulting in plenty of choices for savvy consumers.
3. Buy to last. Choose furniture that can last a lifetime, not just a design season. Select pieces for both strength and style.
