If you’re headed out west for vacation you might just come across a rodeo.  This quintessential American past time is a fun night out for the entire family. The shows are as much about entertainment as the competition.  Check out this video for a little bit of cowboy fun.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming is a great vacation destination any time of year.  There are endless summer activities including hiking, mountain  biking, canoeing, golfing and much more.  Here are the top ten Jackson Hole activities according to Mountain Living Magazine.

1.Ride the new Aerial Tram (a.k.a. Big Red) up Rendezvous Mountain for 360-degree views, hikes around the summit and casual fare at Corbet’s Cabin.

2. Visit the National Museum of Wildlife Art. Set just outside of town on a butte overlooking the National Elk Refuge, the museum’s 14 galleries contain what’s considered the nation’s premier public collection of fine art devoted to wildlife.

3. Golfers can get in the swing of things at the Robert Trent Jones-designed course at Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis, or the Teton Pines Resort Golf Course designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay.

4. Take to the meandering Snake River on a whitewater rafting or float trip with experienced guides, or book a fly-fishing expedition on shore or by boat with a local outfitter.

5. Experience world-class installments of contemporary, landscape, Native American, wildlife, and Western arts, plus music, cowboy poetry and more, at the Fall Arts Festival, September 10-20.

6. Mosey 12 miles up the road to Dornan’s in Moose for authentic chuckwagon fare with in-your-face views of the Tetons. Stop in the Wine Shoppe first and browse the notable selection of international wine and beer.

7. Indulge in a little pampering at one of Jackson’s top-notch spas. Some peak picks include a Mountain Sage Salt Glow body treatment at the Wilderness Adventure Spa at Spring Creek Ranch, or an Herbal Thai massage at The Body Sage Day Spa in the Rusty Parrot Lodge.

8. Explore the artistic wonders, in mediums from weavings to photography, shown at a bounty of local art galleries and see why Jackson has become known as “The Art Center of the Rockies.”

9. Claim a leather saddle barstool at the legendary Million Dollar Cowboy Bar (the bartop is studded with 592 silver dollars) and drink a toast to the neon cowboy.

10. Get in some leaf-peeping when the aspen trees go gold.

We think the best thing “to do” in Jackson Hole might simply be to enjoy the natural beauty.
